OH OH SERIES

In The Photo series OH OH, Michiel Alberts is looking for iconic images of a current human condition, drifting in void. With long shutter speed he captures his performative actions with his camera. The different layers of his falling movement become visible into one image.

OH SERIES 

In The Photo series OH, Michiel Alberts combines Performance, Photography and Drawings. His falling movement is placed in a dark, abstract landscape. The ink lines form a décor of destruction, relating to a universal and present time.

Physical Drawings Series 

With extreme long shutter speed Michiel Alberts slow physical actions were photographed. It results in traces, drawings of human presence, layered in time. The images combine photography with performance.

 ROOF Series 

With his physical language Michiel Alberts related to a roof setting and photographed it with long shutter speed. It resulted in an abstract presence layered in time. The images combine photography with performance and connect to a language of drawing.

Atelier Antwerp 

Michiel Alberts worked and performed from 2010 till 2012,in and around the empty spaces of his atelier in Antwerp, Belgium. His atelier was situated in an old and empty bottling factory. The performances without audience were filmed or photographed. With his specific language of movement he focuses upon the element of time, the empty space and his physical relation to it.

Project deSingel 

 From October 2009 till October 2010, Michiel Alberts worked in the new building of deSingel. While still under construction, he created performances without audience in the raw and empty spaces of the building and photographed them. In the Photo series the connection of time/space and emptiness/presence are expressed.
